    Critical Mass

    Monday, June 29th, 2009

Last Friday, I attended a monthly event, in Edmonton, known as “Critical Mass”.  The downtown streets are taken over by local cyclists, in order to promote bicycling in Edmonton.  I believe it helps bring awareness to how important cycling is for the environment, health, and quality of life.  Not to mention, it makes you feel like you’re 5 years old all over again.  Here’s a few snaps from the ride.

    Less is more

Lately, I’ve been gaining a strong appreciation for simplicity in design.  A proper grid laced with clean elegant typography, is really something to admire.  This portfolio pulls it off with flying colours.

Evening stroll with the pooch.  Wanted to mess around with different photo processes in Photoshop.  I’m continually impressed with the power Photoshop possesses.  Found a tutorial that shows you how to make your digital photograph look like a lomo photography.  I added a few filters of my own, and am quite pleased with the finished result.

Note: As powerful as photoshop is, film is irreplaceable.
    Enjoy!

    Spring Cleaning

    Sunday, June 14th, 2009

I’ve been going through old photos, and trying to clean out some drawers.  Came across these old infrared negatives from college.  I found it to be the coolest process.  Not knowing how any of the colour would turn out in black and white.  Here is a couple snaps from west edmonton mall, as it was winter and I’m told you get the best results from greenery.

Hello all, and thanks for taking a glance through the new I Like to Colour website.  The gallery has been going under some serious renovations, so that hopefully now the work itself is the more prominent feature.  Make sure you check out gallery #2 which is now available.  Just click on the right arrow after browsing through the first gallery.

Special thanks to Craig McCauley and Nathan Matthews for showing me the ropes in regards to css and php.

I’ll be trying to update the blog weekly, so be sure to check back soon.  For now, admire the works of Kevin Cyr.
